Well, this was a fun day.
We took the morning and visited the River Oak Skating Trail in Metcalfe. It was a Ringette day organized as a fundraiser for the National Ringette tournament coming up the next month.
I took Paige and one of her friends, and they met up with a number of their other friends and teammates.
The best thing about this place — and one thing that beats the canal — is that you can bring sticks, pucks and rings and skate along the trail. They even have a few bigger areas set up as rinks with nets.

The place had about 3 km of trails for a full day of family fun, including stroller-goers and the four-legged furry members of the family.
Definitely a pretty good way to spend a winter morning in Ottawa.
