Here I am back to the basics aging trying to learn another language. Yes, the other official language of Canada, French. I have begun my journey of learning this language on a number of fronts.
Babbel is much like other online resources. Allowing you to complete different written, spoken and listening exercises to advance through their lessons. It allows me to "study" while away from work or home using my phone.
LRDG is a program that is offered through work. It is sort of like babble but interjects the availability of a phone tutor for two hours a week and it focuses more on the French language levels needed in the Government of Canada. Today was my first lesson and I will admit, it went much better than I was expecting.
My goal that I have given myself on the self-focus front is to translate all blog posts going forward in both English and French. At the beginning I will be doing this using a translation tool, Google Translate, but later I hope to be able to complete this step myself. Since I just recently redone this site, you will now notice in the top right corner a toggle for English or French. Give it a try and toggle to the other side to see the first french post on my website.
