Here we are back in the sunshine state for another winter vacation away from the cold Ottawa winter. As I sit here typing this up, we are on our last night and what an excellent vacation, filled with fun each and every day.

It started out as we traveled to Syracuse, NY on February 9 to fly out on the 10th with Allegiant Air. We have used them in the past out of Ogdensburg but this time due to the cost decided on Syracuse, costing a little more than $650 cad for the four of us return to Clearwater, Fl. Since we traveled to Syracuse a day earlier than our flight, I used the Park, Stay and Fly site to book a room which included a night in the hotel, parking for 10 days, transportation to and from the airport. Oh, and it also included breakfast for the four of us. For $129 its a deal that you cant beat.

We arrived in Florida at about 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon and headed to my parents. Monday we did not do too much as it was a relaxing day after just arriving. We had a nice BBQ and sat outside during the evening in the nice temperatures.

Day 2

Day 2 consisted of us heading to John's Pass near St. Pete's Beach. If you have never been, its much like any tourist trap that you would see in any vacation area. We have visited this area many times during our trips to Florida but this time was different, we're going on a Pirate Cruse on The Pirate Ship. Now this was a blast. The kids were wholly entertained for an hour and half while the adults enjoyed free drinks.

Day 3

On day three it seen us all split our own ways. Jodi, Mom and the girls headed out shopping for the day to the Ellenton Outlet Mall and some other shops. The girls were able to spend some money they saved up on some new school cloths and random toys. Dad and I joined six others and hit the links. It was not a good day on the links for me except for the cost, $39 for a round including a cart and seven beers. As for the golfing, it was horrible and not on point, or in the hole, at all. Man oh man those Floridians love having houses close to the fairways and may ball seems to love to hit those close houses.
