I had the most unfortunate reason to fly out west to Edmonton this week. Jodi's dad, my father in law, had a heart attack on Saturday. We found out on Sunday morning due to the fact we were busy and out all day Saturday.

ING Direct Thrive Chequing Account Review

If you have not read my blog post "Canadian Banking just took a turn for the best" it was about INGDirect about to release a chequing account called Thrive, but only to 10000 lucky current savings customers. Well guess what... I was one of those lucky ones to get one of the accounts for testing.

1st wedding anniversary

So one year has gone by and I don't even know where it went. It has been a good year with many changes including Jodi finishing school in April and getting a job in the federal government.

It seems like a lifetime since I have done a blog post of put anything on this site. So I will attempt to give a month long update in a blog post so it sure will be a whole lot of randomness, hope you enjoy:

As I sit here trying to think about what to blog about, I really dont know what my five readers really like about my site. Is it the personal posts or is it the reviews or the complaining that I often do about the Official Languages Act or something else.

Day 2 Road Trip - Tom Petty Concert Day

Well our second got off to an early start from Tupper Lake. We left the motel at 8am sharp and were on the road to Saratoga. We wanted to arrive early to do some shopping and see the area before we checked into our B&B. The drive from Tupper Lake to Saratoga is/was about 2.hrs.

Road Trip - Day 1

Well we hit the road today right after Jodi got off work and began our journey to Saratoga Springs, NY to see Tom Petty with Crosby, Stills and Nash tomorrow night. Ottawa to Saratoga is about five hours away but we left a day early to take our time and enjoy the ride and take pictures along the way. Our route map is below, point A to B today and B to C tomorrow.
